- It is advised to take water to class.
- Respect for your fellow students and instructor must be upheld at all times..
Discipline
There must be a high level of discipline as without it injury can occur or students will not benefit from Muay Thai as much as they could.
Rules
- If for any reason during class you wish to leave the Dojo (room), you must ask an instructor. This is for health and safety reasons.
- Whilst a fun environment is important, there will be no tolerance of bad attitude, e.g. swearing, etc.
- If anyone has an injury of any sort it must be reported to the instructor before the class commences.
- Safety is everything - no fooling - this is a contact sport and must be respected.
- Protective gear must be worn.
- Students must supply their own bag gloves, boxing gloves, shin pads, instep and gum shields.
- Thai Works Gym will supply everything else. We do not supply personal items e.g. gloves and shin pads due to health and safety issues.
- Club members must wear an appropriate uniform when training. You must respect the premises in which we train.
- We are all here to learn and so ‘gain only friends’.
- There will be no bullying or bad behaviour tolerated.
- Enjoy and have fun!!
PLEASE NOTE: Muay Thai is a potentially lethal art. Anyone found to be using it for any purpose other than honest self defence outside of the club will no longer be welcome to train at Thai Works Gym and have all grades stripped from them, to never return and to be looked on as if they had never been a part of us. You must train Muay Thai for the right reasons.
Assessment A grading system is offered at Thai Works Gym. It is good for students to be assessed from time to time as this assures their progress. Students will be given activities that are challenging. This is important as a ship that never touches the sea lacks true character. Everyone has different learning capabilities and each person differs in shape and condition, physically and mentally. Thai Works Gym understands this and no matter if a students progress is slow or fast, it will be equally valued and recognised. It is important that all students attend from free will. Thai Works Gym will not tolerate rude behaviour, disrespect of bullying.
Personal Hygiene & Safety
- Club uniforms must be clean for every training session.
- Hands and feet must be clean and nails clipped (this is for your own safety as well as others).
- All jewellery and piercings must be removed or covered with tape before training.
- Thai Works Gym is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items (please store valuables in a safe locker or leave at home).
- Any injury incurred during training must be reported to the instructor at that time
This is Thai boxing and although safety is our first policy injury may occur.
Thai works gym will be upholding its safety first policy at all times and will not accept injury unless it was due to neglect on its behalf. Therefore any injury caused due to students not following these rules or fooling around will be the sole responsibility of the students involved. All students must be covered with insurance and all students are responsible for upholding a safe training atmosphere in conjunction with Thai Works Gym. We are a team.
